Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

GIS provides a powerful means of storing, manipulating and analysing any environmental information that has a spatial (i.e. mapped) element.  GIS applications are developed for our customers , within which we capture and analyse environmental information in order to answer questions required from the data.  Example applications include the creation of habitat inventories, nationally or regionally, and the mapping of species and their attributes.

We have developed many such applications, as well as novel and time-efficient solutions for extensive data capture and analysis.  Information is captured from satellite or aerial imagery, or from field surveys, and undertaken using fully quality-assured procedures.

Database or statistical analysis are applied to explore and interrogate the data and to seek to answer the questions posed by clients.  Bespoke systems can be developed or client specifications implemented.
